The Alfredo's Inn 1907 The first license 1907

In Rome at the beginning of the year "900", Alfredo opened the doors opened of its inn at via della Scrofa 104, beginning a long history of more than one hundred years

In 1907 in a historical and traditional inn in the heart of Rome, from the Alfredo's passions, cooking and theatre, from his ability to prepare simple meals and special tastes, and from the spectacular scene in serving it, with his thick and unmistakable mustache, born the myth of  inimitable fettuccine Alfredo.

Quickly majestc and original fettuccine Alfredo crossed the borders of Rome, to achieve international notority and to become one of the masterpiece of world cuisine.

To make immortal the tastes of fettuccine Alfredo, were also the stories by Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks,  two film stars of Hollywood, who tasted this plate, and the famous Alfredo's cusine, in the restaurant on via della Scrofa during their honeymoon.

From Rome to Hollywood

The echo of this event increased the fame of Alfredo alla Scrofa, and of its fettuccine, on the entire hollywoodian, and the Reastaurant quickly became, and remains today, destination for famous people of the international cinema, literature, politic and sport. The charm of the dinning Rooms and the Gazebo, has created a wonderful atmosphere through one hundred years of history and the unreapetable season of Dolce Vita, with journalist outside the Restaurant to assist a real show  of celebrities, and all newspapers to glorify the exlellence of Alfredo's cuisine and fettuccine.

The tradition of Alfredo continues

The time is passing, and on May 5th 1943, for the simple sum of 100.000 liras, Alfredo sells his Inn to our family, with certainty to forward the deams of his life in the hands of people who would perpetuate  secrets,  traditions and atmospheres of Alfredo alla Scrofa.

From that moment, with unchanged quality and culinary refinement, and increasing attention to the guest, Alfredo alla Scrofa continues year by year, generation by generation, from our grandfathers to our fathers, one day our sons, to write pages of history. Alfredo alla Scrofa continues to increase its fame in the world, with a refined family service, the traditional recipes, the taste of food, and wines carefully selected.

The future and the new projects

Over the years, from the same passion for the ancient traditions, and the teachings of Alfredo, are designed and realized innovative ideas as the franchising projects Alfredo's Gallery.

Alfredo's Gallery represents and exports in the world the best italian culinary art, enhancing the most genuine local products and the culinary excellence of the local traditions.
